Electrical Construction

The Electrical Construction Program provides students with the knowledge and background to prepare them for a career in the electrical field. Students learn electrical safety, tools of the trade, wiring, conduit parts, and assembly.

In the first year of this two-year program, students learn the basics of the National Electrical Code and the theory of electricity. Students work in the shop applying the six common wiring methods using industry required tools.

During the second year, students continue to advance their studies of the National Electrical Code as well as learn to read blueprints. The students work outside of the shop on practical “live work” projects including Service Entrance Equipment, Motor Starters, Motor Controls, Electric Heat, Solar Energy, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC’s). Seniors have the opportunity to receive a certification through the National Association of Home Builders.
