The Culinary Arts program is designed to prepare those students who wish to enter the competitive field of Culinary Arts or work in the Hospitality Industry. Students enrolled in the Culinary Arts program will learn proper sanitation and food safety practices that follow the National Restaurant Association Education Foundation’s Prostart standards. This program provides students with an understanding of the equipment, ingredients and methods used in the savory kitchen. Students learn how meats, dairy, fruits and vegetables are properly handled and prepared in a professional environment while using Culinary math along with fundamental baking techniques.`
Students also learn the basics of Front of the House restaurant operation and service while working with the same equipment and organizational tools that are found in professional kitchens and dining rooms.
Students can earn their Servsafe Food Handler certificate as well as the ServSafe Managers certificate their second year.
