The Residential Construction Program is a multi year program that concentrates on the residential carpentry trade. There are three pathways to this program. Students may take this program starting as early as a sophomore and remain for three years. The more traditional route is to start as a junior and enroll for two years. Finally, seniors may choose to round out their SCTC experience for one year.
Students learn to work independently and in a team setting to complete projects in the shop and offsite real world working experiences. Projects begin with small birdhouses and progress in size to small homes.
They will learn organizational and leadership skills to be successful in the workplace during their time in the program and skills to carry with them upon entering the work force. Throughout all years of the program, there is a strong focus on employability skills.
