This ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certified program is designed to teach students to repair and service gasoline and diesel-powered cars and light duty trucks.
During the first year, students learn general repair of cars and light duty trucks using the latest technology. Students gain experience in the areas of; Vehicle Service, Engine Cooling Systems, Braking Systems, Suspension and Steering Systems Including Front End Alignment.
The second year focuses on electrical systems of automobiles. Students will start with Basic Electricity, moving to Starting and Charging Systems, Computerized Engine Control, Anti-lock Brakes, Air Bags, Fuel delivery, and Ignition systems. Students have the opportunity to become ASE Certified and obtain a Maine State Motor Vehicle Inspection License.
